Okay, today I watched Bread and Roses (2000). Personally, I think is an interesting movie because of the subject and the characters. Made me sense because of the present in Chile and United States, the movie is a little oldie, but the subject's still present.
My favorite characters are Maya and Rosa, because they're strong and they give inspiration, at least for me. Also, they reminded me my grandma and my mom, I don't know why. Maybe 'cause they lived in a camp and they had to fight.
I didn't like the super heroe, which by "coincidence" was a white man and north american. Always is the same thing. You watch a movie about human rights and appears a white man who try to guide the fight. I mean, come on, the leader in this movie is Maya.
My favorite scene was the climax between Maya and Rosa, when they fight and Rosa tells the truth about her past and the things she had to do to have money or food. That moment was very impressive to me, because I thought in a lot of people who lived the same everyday to eat or live, right now in 2018. This movie is based in a movement of 90's decades, but still current.
Your favorite scene is very intense and sad!
ResponderEliminarI agree with you, why the hero must be the white american guy?
ResponderEliminarI agree with most of the things you said, about the leader that doesn't make to much sense (white and north american), and about rosa and maya, they were incredible and both had to past through a lot of different hard situations to survive.
ResponderEliminarI like that scene too
